-How do I measure my hat size?
Measure your head carefully, don't guess or measure the inside of your favorite hat.

Using a tape measure, start in the center front of your forehead and measure around your head at the point at which your hat normally rides (usually right above your eyebrows or approximately 1 inch above your ear). If you don't have a tape measure, you can use a string to mark your headsize and measure that against a ruler. If your measurement is between two hat sizes, order the larger size. Your hat should fit securely, but not tightly.

-Are all your hats a fixed size?
Most cocktail hats, masks, and headbands are one size fits all. Fitted hats like fedoras, cloches, and caps need to be custom-sized. To ensure the perfect fit, we always ask for your exact headsize.

-How can I pay?
Paypal is preferred.
Checks and money orders are also accepted (instructions are provided upon checkout).
Orders are processed upon receipt of payment.

-Prices and Duty
All shop prices are given in United States Dollars (USD).

Sales tax of 8.875% will apply to all orders shipped to addresses within the state of New York.
Please note we have no control over any customs or import duties that could be levied when the package reaches your destination countryand for which you will be liable.

-Has my order been received?
When you place an order a confirmation of your order and the amount charged will be sent to the email address you have registered with us. This document will contain your unique order number and details of the items you have purchased. Please keep this documentation somewhere safe in the unlikely event you have a problem.

-How can I check the status of my order?
Your order confirmation email contains a link to your order status that will be updated automatically as your order is processed and despatched to you. If you click on this link you will be taken to your order status page at the webshop. You will need to login with your email address and password so that you are able to see this.

If there any mistakes on an order confirmation (i.e. the address was entered incorrectly or the wrong item was ordered), please contact us immediately to inform us of any incorrect information seen on the confirmation receipt. Email at HH is not responsible for incorrectly placed orders, if the order has already been shipped, we will gladly work with you to correct the order following the standard exchange policy.

-How long will my order take?
All orders are hand made upon completion of purchase. An email confirmation will be sent when we have shipped your order.
The one-of-a-kind showroom pieces ship within 3-5 business days.
The made-to-order pieces can take up to 2 weeks to hand make and ship to the customer.

All deliveries will be shipped via The United States Postal Service. International orders may be subject to duties, taxes or customs clearance which are the responsibility of the customer/receiver.

In the instance that you feel a package has been lost please first contact the carrier using either the tracking number provided in an email upon confirmation of the outbound shipment.

-What if I need to rush order a hat?
To request a rush order/express shipping, please email your request to prior to placing your order. We will send you a quote for the additional cost and we require a confirmation email in order to approve the additional charge.

-Can I send a hat as a gift?
All hats are hand made and carefully packaged for shipping to ensure your hat reaches you in perfect condition.

You can specify the shipping destination by editing your account details. If you would like to include a message with your hat when it is made and shipped, use the comments box as you complete the checkout process.

-Is a refund/exchange possible?
Because your hat is hand made for you when you place your order, in most circumstances a refund is not available.

In the unlikely event of goods being faulty we will offer you a replacement.

-Is it possible to exchange items?
Because your hat is hand made for you when you place your order, in most circumstances it is not possible to exchange your hat.

In the unlikely event of goods being faulty we will offer you a replacement. We do consider all possibilities, so don't hesitate to email us if there is a problem.

-Is it possible to cancel my order?
Unfortunately, in most circumstances, once an order has been placed and the payment processed for a hat to be made for you, it is not possible to cancel it.

-What is your privacy policy?
HH assures the privacy of our customers. Any information disclosed is confidential and will not be distributed.

-How do I properly store my hat?
We recommend gently stuffing the crown with tissue paper/filler (please don't overstuff as that will force the crown to lose its shape) and storing it in the original hat box or on a hat stand. If the hat is damp from sweat, please let it air dry before storing away to avoid mildewing.

-Can I wear my hat in the rain?
No, hats made of felt or straw are not resistant to inclement weather such as rain and snow. They will lose their shape.

-What can I do if my hat loses its shape?
If your hat needs repair/reblocking, please email us detailing the issues along with a photo of the hat if possible so we may assess the damage.
